Sliabh Bawn is a 262m hill in Doughill Forest, Co. Roscommon, about 20 minutes’ drive north-west of Lanesborough. Managed by Coillte, it’s home to the Sliabh Bawn wind farm and a network of walking trails.

There are six looped trails of 2.7km to 6.5km, graded easy or moderate, though every route begins with a climb before levelling out. At the summit there’s a large stone cross and wide views across the River Shannon and the midlands.

The site also has a trim trail for fitness, an equestrian trail, a raised viewing platform and a picnic area, making it a good half-day outing for families. The car park is south-east of Strokestown.
