Lough Ree Access for All is a community charity on the Ballyleague side of the bridge that makes Lough Ree accessible to everyone. Its base, opened in 2023, was Ireland’s first water accessibility centre. Its purpose-built boat has an easy boarding ramp and can take up to eight wheelchair users at a time, though trips are for all ages and abilities.
Boat trips cruise the northern end of Lough Ree, taking in its islands and wildlife. The charity also offers lake boat hire for groups, guided angling trips, powerboat training, a sensory shed and corporate and group packages. The dockside building has coffee and outdoor seating looking over the Shannon.
