Lanesborough.ie is a visitor guide to Lanesborough and Ballyleague. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit, why, and what choices you have. We keep it to a minimum: you don’t need an account, and we don’t sell or share your information with advertisers.
What we collect
- Visit statistics. We count page views and see things like which pages are popular, which site sent you here, and the rough type of device. We use Independent Analytics, which runs on our own website, uses no tracking cookies and doesn’t store your IP address or identify you personally.
- Your cookie choice. When you choose “Accept” or “Essential only” on the cookie banner, your choice is saved in your browser so we don’t ask again.
- Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site secure and working.
Content from other services
Some parts of the site load content from other companies. When they do, your browser connects to them directly, and they receive basic technical information such as your IP address:
- OpenStreetMap for the map tiles on the “Plan your visit” map.
- Google Fonts for the fonts used on the site.
- Cloudflare (cdnjs) for the map software.
- Instagram for the photos in our Latest News feed from @thelanesborolife.
Links to other websites (for example, booking pages for local businesses or stories in local newspapers) open those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Because we don’t collect names, emails or accounts from visitors, we generally hold no personal information about you. If you have a question, message us on Instagram at @thelanesborolife.
If you’re not happy with how we handle your information, you can contact the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site works, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
